IMEAS - Integrated and Multi-level Energy models for the Alpine Space

For an integrated energy planning

The IMEAS project aims to meet the challenge of implementing climate-energy plans in a way that needs to be integrated and consistent with other sustainable territorial development tools (urban planning, mobility, air quality, water management, etc.). It is based on the use of tools for mobilising actors from local authorities and encouraging collaboration between them.

The IMEAS partners proposed a definition of integrated and multi-level models, with a visualisation by silo. A survey collected 170 responses from energy planning stakeholders and analyzed the successes and pitfalls of integrated models. The partners also identified planning tools and guides.

An analysis of the actor networks was carried out by each project partner, as well as an overview and development of tools on access to energy data or on multi-level collaboration. An online collaborative platform was created, giving the possibility to decision-makers to be in contact and to learn from each other's experiences on integrated planning.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Énergie Environnement supports the Vercors Regional Nature Park and the Grenoble Metropolis through a collaborative work around fuelwood and the visualisation of its flows. This work should allow for stronger ties between these two territories, sharing the same TEPOS (positive energy territory) objective, and to mobilise the actors of the wood sector.

Support for integrated climate-energy approaches

The project activities are the following:

  • Identify, analyse and describe tools and methodologies to support integrated planning (data, stakeholder involvement, etc.)
  • Develop a model for the networking of actors in the field of territorial planning
  • Support seven Alpine territories in the implementation of integrated climate-energy approaches and in actions as developing guides of good practices on stakeholders’ involvement and strengthening collaborations.
